Michele Promaulayko is an award-winning print and digital editor, specializing in the wellness arena. Most recently, she was the editor-in-chief of Cosmopolitan, the largest women’s media brand in the world, and the editorial director of Hearst’s Young Women’s Group, which also includes Women’s Health and Seventeen. Previously, she served as the editor-in-chief of Yahoo Health, a digital site offering the latest news and expert advice on health, fitness, and nutrition. Before that, for six years, she was vice president/editor-in-chief of Women’s Health where she was responsible for overseeing all facets of the brand, including the magazine, website, digital apps, and branded books.
In 2009, Michele authored Look Better Naked. Her most recent book, 20 Pounds Younger, was released in 2015. In 2011, Women’s Health won the prestigious National Magazine Award for General Excellence from ASME (American Society of Magazine Editors) and was again nominated for that same award in 2013, 2014, and 2015. In 2017, Cosmopolitan won a National Magazine Award for Personal Service and received another nod for that award in 2018.
Michele has been an expert guest on television programs such as Today, Good Morning America, The Doctors, The Rachael Ray Show, CNN, EXTRA, Access Hollywood Live, Fox News, and The Dr. Oz Show. She served on ASME’s Board of Directors and was one of the first to be chosen to participate in the Gloria Steinem Media Mentoring Program in affiliation with the Institute for Women’s Leadership at Rutgers University. She resides in Manhattan.
